A local home builder in Boise, ID has been using Design Space for its sales offices when opening new neighborhoods. This office space allows their sales team to meet customers face to face as soon as the ground is broken. The developer can build the infrastructure and model homes for the new development; and at the same time be selling homes! This concept and partnership with Design Space has worked well in the past, and the idea is catching on in the Treasure Valley.

Design Space Delivers a New Bank for LAPD!
The Los Angeles Police Credit Union needed to open a new location quickly at their training facility in northern LA. The project team turned to Design Space who converted an available modular building into modular bank. The building design is simple and cost effective, but the layout and features added will serve the Credit Union’s needs indefinitely. Another good example of the responsiveness and flexibility of mobile offices and modular buildings from Design Space!
Design Space Provides Modular Buildings, Mobile Offices and Storage Containers for Power Project
The Carty Generating Station being built for PGE in Boardman, OR will be a 440-megawatt natural gas-fired power plant. The gas turbines at this plant alone will generate enough power to serve 300,000 homes or more than 20% of the population of State Oregon. But, first it must be built. To help, Design Space Modular Building’s is providing the site’s construction and project management offices. In fact, Design Space is providing every building for the prime and sub-contractors on the entire project. This is one client that is definitely taking advantage of the diversity and capability of modular buildings and Design Space, and specifically Design Space’s Tri-Cities office led by Bill Ackerman who is managing the project.
Design Space Provides Ticket Office for Northwest Natural Gas Parade of Homes
The event is organized by the Building Industry Association of Clark County (BIA). Design Space has providing the on-site ticketing office for the BIA since 2009. This year’s 2014 NW Natural Parade of Homes will take place July 11-27 at Erickson Farms. The event showcases new home designs and builders. Erikson Farms is a housing development in the Felida area on 52 acres. The area operated as a working farm and farm store until 2006. The site is the second Felida subdivision in a row chosen for the event. The 2014 show will feature 10 homes in the $700,000 to $1 million range.
Design Space Provides Custom Stairs
Design Space has always provided steps, decks and ramps for their mobile offices and modular buildings. Recently they have been provided metal steps and decks for more customized site applications. In one example they installed steps and landings to allow access over a 10’ high embankment at a community college in south Orange County California.
Design Space provides a modular building for the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department
The City and County of San Francisco awarded Design Space a contract to provide a new 12 x 24 modular building and handicap ramp to be used as a break room for the Recreation and Parks Department. The project was located at the Department’s yard located inside of Golden Gate Park. The project took less than 90 days from contract to completion.

A local Infiniti dealership recently began remodeling their showroom and service center. Business had to continue during construction. As other dealers in similar situations have found, mobile offices from Design Space Modular Buildings was the ideal solution. Mobile offices were placed exactly where the dealer needed them to serve their customers, but also clear of construction, so business didn’t miss a beat.
Design Space Provides Construction Offices for Major Dam Project
Design Space was contracted to provide over 10,000 square feet of field office space for a three and half year structural retrofit project at Folsom Dam. The project consisted of (3) 36×60 buildings, (1) 38×64 building, (1) 24×60 building, and a restroom trailer. Design Space modified, delivered, and installed the buildings in 45 days to meet the Owner and General Contractor’s tight schedule. Due to space constraints the buildings were aligned along the access road to the job site. Another project from vision to reality, on time and on budget.
Design Space is providing construction trailers for Jehovah’s Witness new Hall
Design Space Modular Buildings is providing the construction trailers for the site a of a new Jehovah’s Witness hall. The site was confined so offices needed to be broken up in separate mobile offices, rather than one large modular complex. Using a string of 10×44 mobile offices worked perfectly for this site.
Design Space Provides ADA Ramps and Stairs to a San Diego Hospital
Design Space Modular Buildings also provides metal ADA ramps and stairs. The metal construction is durable for long term uses, and easy to install and remove for short term needs. They can be rented monthly, or purchased. Design Space can deliver and install when delivering their mobile offices and modular buildings. This offers a big cost and time savings over site built ramps and stairs. Design Space can also provide the ramps and steps alone for any other area on a site a customer may need ramps to accommodate ADA access. On a recent project in San Diego they provided modular buildings and ramps for a hospital client. After seeing the system work, they then asked Design Space to provide the ramps only for a CT Scanning trailer shown in the photo above that the customer already had on site. It proved to be a very quick and economical solution for the hospital.
